Give Thanks for American Exceptionalism which has no equal in Obama’s America

Saltbox_Concord_2Today, I cannot help but feel that Ronald Reagan’s quote over freedom and America is coming to a realization reflecting exactly what is happening today. Today is Thanksgiving, a day in which we should all celebrate our history and what it means to be an American with our families and friends by giving thanks to such history. Unfortunately for Barack Obama’s administration, they see it differently and to release this statement in a commercial is a slap in the face to myself as an American and attempt’s to infiltrate a time in which health care simply has no place to be. The statement reads, “Take advantage of downtime after meals or between holiday activities to start your talk,” says OFA’s marketing script, titled “Health Care for the Holidays.” I’d like to remind Americans that even with all the negativity that surround’s today’s administration from a President who is nothing more than an organizer at best, what we should be discussing is how he has eroded these freedom’s before our very eyes.

From a man who was truly a leader came from Ronald Reagan in 1987 that stated, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed down for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free”. My generation may just be the generation whom faces the extinction of freedom, a freedom of thought and of principle that can be so easily forgotten when an entire generation falls victim to the acceptance of restrictions placed upon as the status quo, the norm.

ronald-reagan-john-lWhen this happens, as I believe it is today, our nations great history is negated as outdated and irrelevant as our school’s and our leaders, become infested with progressive thought. This thought teaches our children and my generation that our history is not as it is, but instead, history in a way of what it should have been. We manipulate history as we indoctrinate a sense of hate from the very beginning of the United States by seeing our founding fathers as mere thief’s.This kind of teaching of our history from the utter foundation of this nation in-turn instills no sense of pride, of American Exceptionalism, of our uniqueness, and therefore negates how much our country has grown.

What President Barack Obama has no sense of is this uniqueness called American Execeptionalism and instead believes he can implement his own dream that is better than the American dream.  Forbes answers what is Obama’s dream by reporting the President’s response when asked, “do you believe in American Exceptionalism?” Obama responded with, “I believe in American Exceptionalism just as the Brit’s believe in British Exceptionalism and the Greek’s believed in Greek Exceptionalism”. His response to this question is what should forever resinate with the American people, our President does not beleive in the American Dream as you and I do. He would rather apologize for American Exceptionalism and turn his back to our great Nation’s history by disregarding our country as not exceptional.

As Dinesh D’ Souza put’s it,“what is exceptional about America? In America, the Irish, the Italians, the Jew’s, the Koreans, the Europeans, the Africans, etc. can come here and can in, fact, become American. You become American by assimilating into a way of life, to a constitution and a rule of law”. This is uniquely what set’s this Nation apart from any other Country in the world, we are a nation of true freedom that is still being built upon a mountain of a million individual dream’s without allowing anyone to tell us differently. This is why The United States of America must embrace our own history as it is  and should never be seen as anything but exceptional because we were founded on a dream that continues to exist and become reality for so many, that is the American Dream.
